Ravensara is a plant native to Madagascar, very aromatic, and used for generations for its toning and antiviral properties. The appearance of its essential oil is relatively recent. It should not be confused with Camphor, or Ravintsara, also endemic to Madagascar, as they come from different trees. Havozo essential oil is also obtained from the bark of the aromatic Ravensara. However, by obtaining the essential oil from the bark, the tree is destroyed, so it is not recommended to use it. Therefore, we prefer to use the essential oil of Ravensara, obtained from the leaves. Ravensara essential oil has a high concentration of terpenes (α-pinene, β-pinene, limonene, p-cymene, sabinene). These molecules give it the following properties: analgesic and anti-inflammatory, relaxing and antispasmodic, antiseptic and immunostimulating.« Back to Glossary Index
